Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan and Deputy Minister Arevik Anapiosyan participated in the Eastern Partnership discussions dedicated to education field and titled “The Future of Learning and Teaching”.
During the meetings “20 Results for 2020 and the Future of Partnership in Education” and “The Role of Teachers in Preparing Young People for Future Society and Work”, the participants discussed the trends, which have essential influence on the educational process, such as globalization, demographic challenges and migration, digitization, development of technology and AI, climate change, inclusivity, valuing the role of teachers, as well as the ways of reforming education in the Eastern Partnership countries.
Minister Harutyunyan highlighted the importance of the collaboration with the EU within the framework of the Eastern Partnership and noted that the main issues of our education sector are the creation of workforce ready to have an investment in the economy of the country and the development of technology.
The Minister spoke about the reforms started in Armenia, presenting the changes of education criteria, education based on work in professional sector and mobility of education. The Minister stressed the importance of introducing digital technologies to education, taking into account that education should conform to the requirements of the XXI century to interest the students of the XXI century.
