Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has touched upon the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and answered the question of possible return of Azerbaijani refugees to their previous settlements.
“The statements of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs have stressed multiple times that the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must conform to the right of refugees to return to their previous residences,” stressed Zakharova, answering the question of the possible cohabitation of Azerbaijani refugees with the Armenian population.
“As for the format of negotiations, the issue is decided by the countries, which should agree upon the participants. Currently, the talks are on the level of Azerbaijan and Armenia’s leaders, and if the two states reach another arrangement, we will support it,” concluded the FM spokesperson.
