American Senator David Perdue has blocked a Senate vote on the Armenian Genocide Resolution, arguing that it is not an issue for the legislators, the Armenian National Committee of America reported.
The measure earlier faced a veto by Senator Lindsey Graham, who blocked its passage by the upper congressional house on November 13, hours after the meeting between Trump and Erdogan. In House speeches at concurrent debates, Senators Robert Menendez and Republican Ted Cruz made a call for the unanimous approval of the bill.
On October 29, the U.S. Congress House of Representatives passed the Resolution on recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
