Greco-Roman wrestling Olympic champion, three-times world champion and four-times European champion Artur Aleksanyan has been named UNICEF National Goodwill Ambassador in Armenia. Aleksanyan has signed the agreement at the UN Armenian Office, announcing that he will be consistent in organizing healthy living for Armenian children. According to statistics, 14% of children below the age of 5 are overweight, while 9% have malnutrition. Aleksanyan was appointed on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is celebrated on World Children’s Day, November 20.
