State Service for Food Safety subject to RA government continues periodical supervision in meat market. Today, the employees of the service visited meat sale pavilions on Khorenatsi Street and Gum Market in Yerevan.
The visit had the objective of assuring that the sale of meat and related products is carried out exclusively in the case of existence of accompanying documents in sanitary conditions and that the workers wear appropriate uniform and have sanitary bulletins.
Registering a generally favorable situation, the inspectors still revealed gross violations of sanitary conditions at the fresh meat shop belonging to sole entrepreneur Uso Kalashyan at the address Khorenatsi 35, where newly received meat and related products were left on the ground in unsanitary conditions. The sale of meat and related product at the shop has been suspended, supervision works continue.
Advisor to Food Safety Service Head Artur Shatvoryan organized a meeting on site with the meat traders. He expressed the determination of the Service to observe the terms established for transitioning to slaughterhouses and urged to take active measures to acquire slaughterhouse meat, noting that the specialists of the Service are ready to provide necessary counseling and information.
The meat sellers working on Khorenatsi Street and Gum Market undertook to transition to slaughterhouse meat purchase and sale by December 1, 2019, partially, and by January 15, 2020, completely.
