American Senator Lindsey Graham blocked the resolution to recognize the Armenian Genocide, reports
TASS agency. Graham made his decision after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which he reported during the Senate meeting.
“I just met with President Erdogan and President Trump about the problems we face in Syria by the military incursion by Turkey. I do hope that Turkey and Armenia can come together and deal with this problem,” said the senator.
Graham claimed to have made the decision to block the resolution not for the past but for the future.
According to the legislation, any senator can block a proposed bill.
