Armenian Defender of Human Rights Arman Tatoyan received Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Armenia Stefano Lazzarotto.
The parties discussed the situation of human rights in Armenia, the activity and directions of work of the Ombudsman.
Tatoyan presented to the Ambassador the works aimed to the defense of women and children’s rights, to the prevention of torture, the systematic steps towards raising public awareness, as well as issues concerning the rights of people with disabilities.
The Ombudsman’s awareness campaign directed to the encouragement of inclusive education was also presented during the discussion.
Ambassador Lazzarotto highlighted the role of the Defender of Human rights in the implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia, as well as in the process of human rights defense.
