Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mayilian announced on Facebook that a new mobile operator will enter Artsakh in 2020 to end the monopoly of the country’s telecommunication sector.
“Thus, we will have a protected communication on the border and factual removal of roaming between Armenia and Artsakh. The meetings and consultations held over the past two months allow us to state confidently that in 2020 a second mobile operator will enter Artsakh. The initiative came true due to experienced specialists and investors. All the possibilities are available to solve the issues of monopoly in the telecommunication sector. I am following the process and have the political will to guarantee appropriate conditions in 2020 to overcome the monopoly in the telecommunication sector and to ensure the entrance of a second operator to Artsakh,
First of all, we will have a quality mobile connection with low prices. The competition will force the existing operator to reduce the tariffs for its subscribers. Besides, we will have access to modern 4G/LTE mobile internet, new job places especially for young specialists,"
