With the support of the UAE Embassy to Armenia, the National Children’s Library after Khnko Aper participates at the Sharjah International Book Fair with a single pavilion.
The Armenian delegation, led by the library, also includes Edit Print Publishing, GSM Studio and IBBY Armenia cultural NGO.
In the framework of the fair, Director of the National Children’s Lubrary and President of IBBY Armenia NGO Ruzan Tonoyan has met with Amna Jumah, representing Kalimat Group, the best publishing house of the UAE and the manager of the foundation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of translating the works of Armenian and Arab children’s writers in two languages. They also agreed on publishing two-language – Armenian and Arab – books, as well as to implement experience exchange programs between Armenian and Arab publishers.
In the interviews of our delegation to Hamzat Wassl and Год литературы, they stressed the importance of Armenia’s participation at large fairs, as they are not only a good platform for representing Armenian books to the local Armenian community, but also a chance to present our culture to foreign representatives of the sector, creating preconditions for cultural dialogue and collaboration.
The fair started on October 30 and will continue until November 9.
