The launch of communal shops is an important step for both consumers and farmers. One of the advantages of the shop is the chance for the consumer to buy meat directly from the producer/farmer, receiving a high-quality service, as all the safety and sanitary norms defined by the requirements of the RA legislation are guaranteed.
It is expected that the communal shop will also boost farming in villages, ensuring a possibility of sale in the community and stable income for farmers.
The opening of the meat shop has become possible by the partnership of the regional authorities of Sisian and Strategic Development Agency NGO in the framework of Livestock Development in the Syunik Region, funded by The Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development.
The overall goal of the project Livestock Development in the Syunik Region was the increase of income for male and female farmers in the regions of Goris and Sisian and enhancement of economic possibilities.
Representatives from the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Food Safety Agency, the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development, from Syunik regional administration and others will attend the event.
