Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan met with Chairman of the Bank of China Liu Liange in Beijing. Bank of China is one of the four biggest banks in the world in terms of assets.
During the meeting the deputy PM introduced Armenia’s economic development prospects, including the investment opportunities in the fields of infrastructures, education, SMEs and high technologies. Highlighting Armenia’s attractive geographical position and existing favorable environment for business development, Liu Liange expressed readiness to deepen the future cooperation, including within the frames of the Belt and Road initiative.
Avinyan invited the Bank’s Chairman to Armenia to discuss the possible joint initiatives.
At the end of the meeting the parties, represented by RA Deputy Minister of Economics Varos Simonyan and Bank of China Qatar Branch Director, signed a Memorandum of Understanding. In the framework of the memorandum, the parties expressed their intent to create mechanisms for mutual investment and trade between Armenian and Chinese SMEs, to establish a platform for the common activity of SMEs, to study new models of collaboration and services in order to support the partnership of SMEs.
