By the decree of President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, RA People’s Artist, renowned composer Tigran Mansurian was awarded the first degree Order for the Services Rendered to Fatherland for his considerable contribution to the development of the musical art and outstanding achievements.
Today, at the Presidential Palace, Armen Sarkissian handed the high state award to the great composer.
The President congratulated the maestro and wished him excellent health, new artistic achievements and boundless energy. “You earned our people’s love long ago; however, you still have many things to do: The greater legacy we leave, the richer we will be,” President Sarkissian said.
The President also hosted the participants of "Modern Classics" composer festival, including the honorary guest of the festival, world-renowned Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki.
The festival was organized by the initiative of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
