The price of gas will not rise in Armenia starting from January 1, as the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) for the tariff model, PSRC Chairman Garegin Baghramyan told reporters in the Parliament. “It is not possible to raise the price from January 1. Even if there is an application to increase the price or revise the tariff, this procedure requires certain time. And in all cases when the Commission makes a decision on tariffs, they enter into force 30 days later”, said Baghramyan.
On the increase of the price in winter months, Baghramyan noted that a proposal for the model with quite a long timeframe is under discussion stage and there is no talk on the increase of the price in winter months.
Discussing the possible raise of energy tariff next year, he said that the energy demand and production balance was going to be verified within two weeks, and after that, it would be possible to determine the tariff for the following year.
