President Armen Sarkissian received a delegation of the European Investment Bank headed by the Vice President of the Bank Vazil Hudak. Present at the meeting was also the Head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin.
The Vice President of the European Investment Bank spoke about programs implemented by the Bank in Armenia and noted that they pertain primarily to infrastructure and are directed toward the improvement of the life standards in our country.
The President of Armenia assessed as efficient cooperation with the Bank and noted that successful programs are the best proof of it. At the same time the President proposed to pay more attention to the projects aimed into the future and expressed confidence that the future of our country is in cooperation in the area of innovations and modern technologies, artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling.
In this context, he introduced one of the Presidential initiatives - ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow) which is aimed at the development of technologies and science in Armenia. This project, along with other components, aims at bringing major international technological companies to Armenia to carry out research and educational programs.
“It will create a proper environment and will help young people to learn from large companies,” President Sarkissian underscored.
