Eight professional colleges and twenty-two regional secondary schools will be repaired and reconstructed by the funds of the state budget in 2020, as reported Arayik Harutyunyan, the Education Minister, at the discussion of the budget in the Parliament. The Minister also published the list of the schools, where capital repair will take place in 2020. The schools are:
Ararat Province – Deghdzut Secondary School
Armavir Province – Argina Secondary School
Gegharkunik Province - Lernahovit Secondary School, Shatjrek Secondary School, Jili Secondary School
Lori Province – Medovka Secondary School, Hagvi Secondary School
Shirak Province – Aregnadem Secondary School, Bedrashen Secondary School, Kaps Secondary School
Syunik Province – Harzhis Secondary School, Darbas Secondary School, Kapan N 4 Secondary School
Tavush Province – Kirants Secondary School, Dovegh Secondary School
Vayots Dzor Province - Gomk Secondary School, Chiva Secondary School, Yegheghis Secondary School
Kotayk Region – Jrarat Secondary School, Katnaghbyur Secondary School
Aragatsotn Region – Lusakn Secondary School, Garnahovit Secondary School
The Minister also informed that 2.5bln AMD from the additional revenue of the 2019 state budget has been allocated to education, science, culture and sport, and project works have been implemented in this framework. The realization of the projects will require around 28bln AMD. If the state allocates more funds, they will be carried out.
In 2018, around 800mln AMD was allocated for robotics labs.
By the end of 2019, 50% of schools will be equipped with Armath labs. The payments of the specialists working there are included in the 2020 state budget.
The Minister said that biology international Olympiad will take place in Armenia in 2020. Many new labs will be established for the organization and will later be transferred to public schools.
In general, the 2020 budget draft includes 21 programs, 176 events for the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. For their implementation, it is offered to allocate 176bln 459mln AMD. In comparison with 2019, the allocations of the upcoming year have increased by 20bln 572mln AMD or by 12.9%.
