Safe playgrounds for children: Yerevan City Hall has started a program to cover playgrounds in rubber.
“A tender will take place for 2800 square meters in the twelve administrative districts. Two-three yards will be included in each district. It is a safe and stable material, soft and ecological. Next year, the budget will double: 100mln AMD will be allocated for this purpose. The guarantee of these coverings is from seven to ten years,” said Grigor Harutyunyan, head of Yerevan City Hall Construction and Improvement Department.
This approach, common in the world, will now be applied in Yerevan as a test. Soft rubber coverings have already replaced sand and asphalt in Yerevan playgrounds.
In 2020, the volume of the program will grow. The test program includes 23 units this year.
