Canada has temporarily suspended new arms sale to Turkey, reports France 24.
“Canada firmly condemns Turkey’s military incursion into Syria,” has announced Canada’s Foregin Ministry, adding that Turkey’s actions risks undermining the stability of the region and rolling back progress achieved by the Global Coalition Against Daesh.
Canada’s Foreign Ministry has also called for the protection of civilians and for unhindered access for humanitarian aid.
Canada’s arms sales to Turkey totaled nearly US$90 million in 2018.
