“The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran nuclear program (JCPOA), which the US left, should stand and several measures should be taken for this purpose,” said Izumi Nakamitsu, United Nations Under-Secretary-General of Disarmament Affairs.
In an interview with Komersant, she said, “We have always considered the Iran nuclear deal a great success in the area of preventing nuclear proliferation. The deal is an important tool for stopping the nuclear proliferation in that region. For this reason, we wanted the deal to stay in force, but, unfortunately, one of the parties withdrew.”
