“My Facebook post of August 13, 2019, which contemplated my active participation in 2020 election, was met with largely positive response in Artsakh, Armenia and the Diaspora. The discussions held with Artsakh citizens, political and public figures, governmental and political circles of Armenia and public figures of the Diaspora have shown that there are prerequisites for my candidacy in Artsakh presidential election. As the prerequisites guarantee the successful election in 2020 and inspire trust in efficient realization of various development programs for Artsakh, I have decided to announce my candidacy. It is time to discuss nationwide agenda, radical reforms in Artsakh and unification of the healthy forces of the society. The reforms will ensure the safe, reliable, just, civil and democratic future for our country. We will built out New Artsakh,” wrote Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh Mayis Mayilyan on his Facebook page.
