April 30, 1991 is one of the most tragic dates in modern Armenian history.
On April 30, 1991, the Azerbaijani side surrounded Getashen and Martunashen and with the permission and participation of the Soviet Army organized the infamous Operation Ring. The Armenians who survived the massacre brought new life and names to their villages in Mountainous Artsakh.
