1st blind alley of Marshal Baghramyan Avenue has been renamed after lawyer Raphael Lemkin, who coined the term “genocide”. On December 9, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. It was ratified in October, 1950 by the signature of 20 countries and entered into force on January 12, 1951.
