National Assembly member Grigor Avalyan submitted a resignation letter on May 2.
RA National Assembly Speaker Ara Babloyan released a statement, which reads:
"National Assembly member Grigor Avalyan submitted a resignation letter on May 2. Under the article 155 of constitutional law "Regulation of National Assembly", if within a week after the publication of the resignation, the lawmaker withdraws it by a written request, the speaker of the National Assembly releases a statement concerning the fact. If the lawmaker does not withdraw the application for resignation, a protocol is made on the interruption of powers, which is signed and published by the Speaker of the National Assembly. The resignation shall be deemed accepted from the moment of publication of the protocol."
