Armenian businessman and philanthropist Levon Hayrapetyan died this morning. Levon Hayrapetyan was one of the largest investors of Artsakh. He financed the reconstruction of Gandzasar monastery complex in 2000-2002, invested significant funds in the development of infrastructures situated around the monastery complex of Vank village, has invested in the building of woodworking factory, high quality hotel with Chinese cuisine, resorts and schools. In 2008, he organized a joint wedding for many couples in Shushi and Gandzasar, starting 700 new families. In 2014, Hayrapetyan was sentenced to four years in prison after the investigation of Kingisepp criminal group. His health deteriorated in prison. Hours before his death, he asked to bury him next to his parents.
