Next year the United States will give additional 1.5 million USD for demining Artsakh. The initiative of the additional aid belongs to the Congressman David Valadao. Agenda’s correspondent from the States Haykaram Nahapetyan reports that the author of the initiative mentioned that 8 million USD is necessary to demine Artsakh completely by 2020. The Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate offered to deny visas to Turkish and Azerbaijani officials. The director of the US Armenian Committee Aram Hamparian welcomed Valadao’s initiative and talked about other important bills approved by the Upper Chamber of the Congress.
“Another three very essential decisions have been approved on the Senate level. The first requires banning arm sale to the security detail of Turkish President Erdogan. The second demands to deny visas to the Turkish officials who have involvement with the arrest of American citizens in Turkey. And the third demands to deprive of American visas the Azerbaijani officials who have ties with the arrest of Turan’s editor-in-chief. All these bills have been approved unanimously,” says the ANCA chair.
