This is the most famous celebration in Vakıflı, not only Armenians, but also the representatives of Assyrian and Alevi communities participate in it.
As in previous years, this year too many Armenians from different angles of the world participated in the celebration in Vakıflı, the only Armenian village of Turkey. The newly elected patriarch of the community – Archbishop Garegin Bekchian – served the Holy Mass. The traditional harissa, prepared in the churchyard, was divided among the pilgrims. This is the most famous celebration in Vakıflı, not only Armenians, but also the representatives of Assyrian and Alevi communities participate in it.
