Public Television of Armenia has prepared a surprise for its audience. At 20:30, July 30, after an interruption of almost 50 years, the musical “The Dreamers” will premiere on the First Channel.
The film was made in distant 1969 by “Yerevan” film studio and was screened just once in the “House of Art Workers”, then it was banned. It tells the story of the rock band “The Dreamers”, inspired by the world-famous “The Beatles” and composed of the students of Polytechnic Institute – Hrayr Kotoyan, Zaven Sargsyan, Hakob Petrosyan, Yervand Yerznkyan, Slava Buniatyan (after some time, the latter was replaced by Armen Zakaryan).
Anatoli Mokatsyan, screenwriter, member of cinematography union of Arm SSR, directed the film.
Today, half a century later, Public TV’s crew found the film in the archive, restored and digitized it, which made it possible to present it to the public.
