On June 12th, the Council of Public Radio and TV of Armenia decided to appoint Mark Grigoryan as the Executive Director of the Public Radio of Armenia.
Mark Grigoryan graduated from Yerevan State University in 1980 and started working in Yerevan Automated Control Systems Scientific Research Institute.
In 1989 he defended a thesis in the institute of Russian language of the USSR NAS (now RAS) after V. Vinogradov with the specialization in “Russian Language”.
Has taught in Pushkin school and Yerevan universities (YSU and “Anania Shirakatsi).
Since 1993 he has been working in the field of journalism. Has been the vice editor-in-chief of “Svoboda” newspaper. From 1995 to 1996 worked in AIM (Armenian International Magazine).
Has collaborated with numerous Armenian and foreign publications. Has authored 16 books, many scientific and journalistic articles. He is one of the founders of Caucasus Institute in Yerevan.
Mark Grigoryan has worked in London, in the BBC Russian Service program “Early Hour”. Up to March 11th, 2011, hosted the program “BBSeva” with Seva Novgorodsev.
In 2013 received the annual journalistic prize Hellman/Hammet, awarded for “recognition of bravery against political persecutions”.
