Public TV Company presents a film on Soghomon Tehliryan’s trial and “Nemesis”Operation. The film entitled “Case N22/21: Soghomon Tehliryan” will air on April 24. The journalistic investigation that lasted almost a year was aimed not only at revealing the true facts, but also presenting new circumstances that eventually made “Nemesis” Operation.
As part of journalistic investigation, screenwriter Marianna Paytyan met with experts of Armenian descent. The shooting crew conducted an exclusive shooting in Germany, accompanied by German researchers, visited the court where the trial was held at, and did their best to determine the reason why Soghomon’s testimonies made at court often do not match with his biographical data.
The crew conducted shooting at a Turkish cemetery in Berlin, where Talat was once buried. Bahaeddin Shakir’s and Jamal Azmi’s graves are still there, which together with the remaining graves of Turksih criminals back in Turkey, have turned into pilgrimage sites for Turk extremists.
The authors managed to talk to Soghomon’s relatives, among them his nephew and granddaughter. Throughout the filming process the crew found a number of interesting details, among them Soghomon’s diary written while in jail.
The film is directed by Amalya Sargsyan, cameraman – Karen Torosyan, film editing by Gor Arevshatyan, music by Arthur Tadevosyan and painter Zakar Demirchyan.
