Liberation of Shushi was a turning point in Artsakh war. The sudden operation led by Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan surprised the enemy, this way managing to liberate Shushi over one night. Early in the morning of May 9 the battalion that participated in the operation was already in Shushi, gathered at Saint Ghazanchechoch Cathedral, yet not hurrying to enter. The enemy had panicked and left an entire arsenal, while our heroes were concerned there might be mines in the Cathedral.
