For the first time in the history, the Germans launched a new type of offensive – poisonous gas, which took away 5000 lives within just 10 minutes. In the meanwhile, when the English, French and Russian Generals were thinking about weapons that would protect from gas, Russian chemist Zelinski actively got down to work. It was him who later invented the respirator.
