Karen Karapetyan presented the main issue on the agenda – the new government draft program.
After meeting with the executive body yesterday, the Republican Party then held a Council session at extended format. Republican Party president – RA president Serzh Sargsyan conducted the discussions. During the session Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan presented the main issue on the agenda – the new draft program for the government. After the discussion that lasted over 1.5 hours, Republican Party speaker Eduard Sharmazanov informed the journalists the packages will still undergo several changes and amendments over the coming days and will then be submitted to the parliament by no later than Friday.
The government program is made up for a 6-month period until the upcoming national elections. Eduard Sharmazanov assured the given package places major emphasis on the improvement of social justice and economic state of the country, as well as it is aimed at sustaining domestic and foreign security. There will be continuous negotiation in regard of NKR conflict settlement, in cooperation with OSCE Minsk Group - in search for a peaceful solution and a policy to recognize Artsakh independence.
The new government program will as well touch upon other issues varying from fight against terrorism and educational reforms in rural areas.
