Heavy snowfall (15-25 centimeters) has covered the entire territory of Gegharkunik region. The snowfall has damaged ornamental and fruit trees, as well as power lines: many of the roads are difficult to pass. Rural households are even facing more difficulties, since some amount of potato crop has not been gathered yet, and many cattle have not yet returned from summer pastures.
According to the head of rescue services to the Ministry of Emergency Situations Hayk Abrahamyan the power cutoff and impassable roads are common to the entire territory of the region.
Rescuers have received alarms to rescue cars hit in the snowfall. Hayk Abrahamyan states responsive measures are being taken to settle the above mentioned state in the region.
