As Komitas used to say “This dance symbolizes the characteristic feature of a nation, especially the degree of its norms and civilization.” Few people know, however, that Komitas is the author of two serious works on national dances. The genius musician was among the pioneers who put down writing records on Armenian national dances. It is thanks to Komitas-the Vardapet, that “Shoror” has been transferred from generation by generation and has reached nowadays, finally being recovered after long searches.
