Songwriter Dilan receives award for "having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition". He was born on May 24th, 1941, in Duluth city, Minnesota. Apart from being a musician he is also known as a painter and film actor. In 2008 Bob Dilan was awarded the Pulitzer award: he is a 7 time Grammy award winner, and has also received an Oscar and Golden Globe award. According to Rolling Stone magazine survey, in 2010 Dilan was rated the second best known rock performer following the Beatles. As the Time magazine writes he is one of the 20th century 100 greatest performers.
