There are ongoing excavations on the territory of Lchashen village, Gegharkunik region. The village area is a real museum in the open air. There is the first inscription about the village found on a huge and blunt cliff to the eastern part of the village near the pre- Urartain settlements. This is the cuneiform inscription by king Argishti I, B.C. 776.
