RA President had nominated Arthur Davtyan’s candidacy. He was elected in a secret ballot with 97 votes for and 3 against. Following the two-day discussions, the parliamentary fractions finally expressed their position. Republican Party and ARF have voted in favor of Davtyan, ANC and the Prosperous Armenia Party have not partaken in the voting, while Orinats Yerkir cast free votes. The newly appointed Prosecutor General thanked the MPs for their confidence in him, saying that he will do his best to conduct proper implementation of issues the Prosecutor’s Office is facing, and will justify the expectations.
