President Serzh Sargsyan today received the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili who has arrived in Armenia on an official visit. The President of Armenia welcomed the guest and expressed hope that his first official visit to Yerevan will signify the further strengthening of the ties between the two friendly nations and will give a new impetus to the interstate relations. Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits which provide a good opportunity to discuss the items on the Armenian-Georgian agenda in a constructive and warm atmosphere as well as to preset new possibilities for cooperation. Noting that Armenia and Georgia are not only friendly states but also two peoples linked by centuries-long brotherly relations, which are cherished in Armenia, the President said that it is necessary to develop and strengthen these relations incessantly. According to the President, the current high level of the political dialogue between the two countries allows to further deepen the bilateral relations in all areas, taking them to a qualitatively new level.
At the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities and potential of expanding cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest.
