One of the main issues the health care sector is facing, is the issue of treatment to patients diagnosed with hemophilia. Armenian Center of Hematology, the International Federation of Hemophilia and Armenian Association of Hemophilia have jointly organized a conference entitled "Hemophilia Care", presenting the news on diagnosing the disease, new approaches to treatment, as well as ways to treat complications. In Armenia there are currently there are 234 people diagnosed with hemophilia, 54 of which are children.
Almost 8 cases of hemophilia are being recorded annually. Director of Hematology Center Smbat Daghbashyan mentiones that there have been positive dynamics recently. Laboratories have been equipped with modern devices; new methods of diagnosis have been introduced, as well as joint programs have been developed together with foundations engaged in hemophilia treatment overseas.
