Armenia has 40 000 first-graders this year

Today, on September 1^st – International Knowledge Day, over 40 thousand first-graders started their first day at school. As Head of General Education Department of RA Ministry of Education and Science Narine Hovhannisyan informs, the preliminary number of pupils attending school in 2016 already exceeds the number of 2015, which was 39.246.

On the occasion of the 25^th anniversary of Independence a number of thematic ceremonies are scheduled on September 1^st.

There are amendments expected in the curriculum of 2016-2017 academic year, with less academic workload for elementary classes (1-4^th grades) in the second semester.
