During an irregular parliament session in Artsakh, the draft resolution of amnesty declared by President Bako Sahakyan was passed by 28 votes in favor. The amnesty does not spread over life imprisonments, rather refers to convicts with the period of 3 years of imprisonment, as well as convicts of first and second degree of disability sentenced to up to 5 years of imprisonment, convicts under age 18 and those who have not previously been convicted, and prisoners above age 60. The amnesty will be applied on veterans of Artsakh war, relatives of freedom fighters who have been released from the sentence conditionally. Generally, 4 out of the 6 amnesties declared in the country have been on the occasion of Independence day, this one - on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of independence.
