Special Investigative Service of Armenia released details over the “Electric Yerevan” movement last summer, regarding police violation of law, particularly impeding journalists’ work. The investigation revealed Head of Police Troops, Colonel Davit Perkhannan has impeded the legal professional activities carried out by journalists, and has also damaged some of their equipment, while Yerevan department senior inspector Kostan Budahgyan and his co-servicemen Tachat Noratunkyan and Arthur Ayvazyan have abused their official duty by impeding the legal professional activities of the journalists. The above mentioned police officers have been charged with last year’s events. A decision has been made to temporarily suspend their service. The case has already been handed over a prosecutor for court submission.
