Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump receives first intelligence briefing.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump receives first intelligence briefing. Traditionally both candidates are entitled to participate in this briefing as their parties’ presidential nominees. The meeting aims to prepare the nominee for the post of a president, providing the latter information on international threat on US security. However, the briefing did not appear to create reciprocal trust, since intelligence officials did not provide full information to Trump on the one hand, on the other hand, Trump was not pleased with the briefing results, even though he abstained from commenting on it. Prior to the briefing Trump had announced about his lack of confidence in the intelligence officials, since the latter have not done anything particularly for the country over the period of the past 10 years, instead brought the country into a catastrophic state.
