After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Serzh Sargsyan has made the following statement. “Despite international hardships and barriers, Armenian and Russian turnover has registered a rapid growth. The volume of export from Armenia to Russia over the first 6 months of the year have had 90% growth reaching the maximum index in its history”
President has noted about keeping a close look at Putin’s intense external political affairs over the past week, which is quite understandable, given the fact, that Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey are countries bordering Armenia." I am grateful to Vladimir Putin for briefing details on the meeting, and I do believe Armenia will only benefit from Russian’s active role in the region."
Serzh Sargsyan has also touched upon discussion over implementation of agreements reached as a result of Vienna and Saint Petersburg talks.
“First and foremost, this has been the first unconditional implementation of the trilateral agreement reached ever since ceasefire regime established in 1994-95, the introduction of investigative mechanisms, as well as expansion of OSCE Chairman Mission.”
The president also added, any attempt which may result in violation of force balance, emerging winners and losers, are subject to failure, thus tending to a new tension. “All the parties should benefit as a result of realistic and clear decisions, the bases of which are mutual respect and trust, rather than hatred and xenophobia.”
