Armenian weightlifters started performance at the Rio Olympics. In the category of 69 kilograms, European champion Nazik Avdalyan took the fifth place, first lifting the 107 kg bar, then reaching 135 kgs. With total result of 242 kgs, Nazik Avdalyan took the fifth place, which is currently the highest result registered by Armenian national team athletes.
