Based on the preliminary results of police investigation on the occasion of the events on Khorenatsi Street on July 19th and July 29th in Sari Tagh, RA Chief of Police has assigned disciplinary charges against several police officers. The charges are based on failure to take appropriate measures arising from the situation, not impeding the access of march participants into the security zone on a timely manner, for acting violence against civilians, as well as journalists and failing to prevent damage of equipment, head of municipalal department, Major-General Ashot Karapetyan and several officers have been severely reprimanded.
Deputy Head of the Operative Department of the Police Forces Staff, Lerniak Yeranosyan and other officers have been dismissed for disproportionate use of force against protestors.
