France today celebrates its national holiday - Bastille Day. The fortress symbolizing political dictatorship, symbol of absolute monarchy in France, was occupied on July 14th, 1789, by Paris city rebellions. Seize of Bastille was the beginning of French Revolution that opened a new era for the people of France, as well as in world’s history. Traditionally the celebrations are accompanied by a parade along the Champs-Elysées. At night Paris is filled with carnivals and concerts,that culminate with fine fireworks.
