In an interview to German Bild newspaper, President Serzh Sargsyan was asked, “A voting on Armenian resolution will be held in Bundestag on Thursday. Why is it so necessary that the Parliament of Germany recognizes the Armenian Genocide that took place from 1915-1916?”
In answer to the question, Serzh Sargsyan replied, “The thing is not in remembering and commemorating the victims of the horrible crime of 1915. Last year the President of Germany chose clear words to describe the slaughter and qualified the crime with the appropriate name – a Genocide. ”
