The Investigative Committee confirmed the arrest of high-ranking military officials. General Mels Chilingaryan, Colonels Mger Papyan and Armen Margaryan were arrested on the evening of May 30th. The detentions were carried within the framework of two different criminal cases. The arrest is based on the acceptance of low-quality goods, in some cases - purchases on exaggerated prices.
Earlier, the Department of the Military Investigation of RA Investigative Committee had launched a criminal case against a senior official of the Armenian Armed Forces Armaments Department Davit Abrahamyan for negligence towards his official duty. During the trial Davit Abrahamyan accepted the charges against him. He testified and recovered the damage. A decision was made to temporarily suspend his service.
