There have been Armenian representatives of the Cinema industry who regularly made their way to the American Academy Award, however, Armenia has never before had an Oscar nominee so far. The first Armenian to win Oscar was William Saroyan, who took the award in 1944, for his script in the movie “Human Comedy”. Other people who won Oscar are Sherilin Sarkisian, Steven Zailyan, Thomas Ohanyan and others.
