Participant of World War II Suren Stepanyan lives in a private house in one of the narrow streets, in the back streets of Tigran Mets Avenue. “Before the war I was given this property to build a house in. Upon my arrival after the war I was to find my house in an untidy condition”, the veteran recalls.
His meeting with Marshal Baghramyan was one of the memorable wartime moments, the details of which the veteran is currently unable to recall.”During our meeting I was said that they were familiar with my report, saying I had done a great job.”
Suren Stepanyan is being taken care of by his two daughters who live in the neighborhood. “Sometimes I take short walks, but I am no longer what I used to be. What can I do? Now I have only one goal – to live a century. You know, whenever there is a goal, there is a way to realize it. I was guided by this principle at war: nothing has changed for now.’
